Everest (Khumbu) Region

Located in the North-east of Kathmandu, the Sagarmatha (Everest) region contains the unique natural heritage sites in the world, that is MT. EVEREST, the roof of the world. Which includes other high peaks such as Lhotse Shar (8586m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Amadablam 6812m), Pumori (6623m), Kangtega (6779m), Gyachung Kang, Thamserku (6623m) and Kwangde. Trees such as rhododendron, birch, blue pine, juniper and silver fir are found up to an altitude of 4,000m above which they give way to scrub and alpine plants. Wildlife most likely to be seen in Sagarmatha is the Himalayan thar, ghoral, musk deer, pikka (mouse hare), weasel and occasionally jackal etc. This famous and interesting trek will bring you to the highest peak of the world, famous villages of Sherpas and monasteries.
